Allie is a fifth-year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at the University of Hartford, where she received her Master’s degree in Clinical Practices in Psychology. She is originally from the Hudson Valley area of New York, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Marist College. Allie has prior assessment and psychotherapy experience in college counseling and private practice settings and has worked with concerns such as anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, body image dissatisfaction, disordered eating, and relationship/interpersonal issues. She also has an interest in fostering “digital hygiene”- developing balanced relationships with social media and technology use.
A former competitive dancer herself, Allie is passionate about supporting the unique mental health concerns of dancers, performing artists, and athletes. She is passionate in providing LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodiversity-affirming care and utilizes a client-centered, trauma-informed, multicultural lens, focusing on relationship-building and integration of various therapeutic approaches to support and empower clients. Some of these approaches include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal psychotherapy, and feminist therapy. In her free time, Allie enjoys knitting/crocheting, reading, yoga, and playing Mario Kart.
